Privacy policy

Direct Windows keeps this simple, because the whole point of our name is that we don’t hide things. This policy explains what information we collect when you use estimate.directwindows.ca, why we collect it, and what we do (and don’t do) with it. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Chat messages. What you type into the estimator — window sizes, types, questions, and anything else you choose to share.
- Your email address, if you provide it, so we can send you your price range.
- Standard analytics data. Like most websites, we use cookies and the Meta Pixel, which collect things like your device and browser type, the pages you visit, and rough location. This data is used in aggregate — it doesn’t include your chat messages.
We don’t ask for, and you shouldn’t enter, sensitive information like financial details in the estimator.
Why we collect it
- To produce and send your estimate. Your chat messages describe your project; your email is where the price range goes.
- To follow up about your project — for example, to answer a question or arrange an exact measure if you ask for one.
- To measure our advertising. The Meta Pixel tells us whether our ads bring in people who actually want a price, so we can spend less on ads that don’t work.
That’s the whole list. We collect what we need to do those three things, and nothing else.
We don’t sell your information
We never sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own marketing. The only parties who handle your information are the service providers we use to run the site and send email (for example, our chat and email infrastructure) and, for aggregate ad measurement, Meta — see the cookies section below.
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
Our site uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta (Facebook/Instagram) that sets cookies and reports events like page views back to Meta. We use it to measure how our ads perform and to reach people who visited our site. Meta’s own use of this data is governed by Meta’s privacy policy.
You can limit this in two ways: block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. The site works fine either way.
How long we keep it
We keep your chat conversation and email address for as long as we need them to serve your project — producing your estimate, answering follow-ups, and completing an installation if you go ahead — plus any period the law requires (for example, records tied to a completed job or warranty). When the information is no longer needed, we delete it.
Access, correction, and deletion
You can ask us at any time what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call us at (647) 699-2371 and we’ll take care of it. If you ask us to delete your information, we’ll remove it except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date at the top. We won’t quietly start doing something new with your information.
